Managers of Human Resources within recruitment organisations and human resource departments need to know whether current or future staff have the requisite language skills to fit the linguistic demands and critical thinking of a given job position. They also need to know whether the language skills of their staff have changed over time. We advise Human Resources managers e.g. on how to match target language skills to language needs. We support them in evaluating professional language needs and in using competency assessment over time with institutional tools such as the TOEIC® Bridge test, the TOEIC® test , the TFI™ test, and the CriterionSM service. For instance, the TOEIC® test can be used as a tool to certify the language competence of candidates applying for a job. Its use can also be extended to training programmes – to set learning objectives and measure progress towards those goals. For companies that fund employee language courses either by providing in-house language courses or outsourcing them, we provide the means to monitor language course effectiveness by offering before-and-after comparison consultancy, which informs clients of the value-added from received training.
